The International Day Of The Dead Tour and Exhibit is a cultural project, created on 2015 presented in Granville Island.
There are so many narratives about skulls because countless lives have and will become them, as different as we all are,
we are the same in fundamental ways, this is the underlying theme of the ‘International Day of the Dead Tour & Exhibit”
Clay skulls brought from Mexico were provided to professional International artists in Vancouver.
The idea was for each artist to recreate their own expression of how they visualize and interpret
death according to their culture, traditions and artistic style, using clay skulls as their canvases.
Displaying a total of 20 skulls, 10 skulls in shop windows across the Island as part of the tour,
and 10 skulls will be exhibit at the Federation of Canadian Artist’s gallery.
This exhibition is the first of its kind in the province of British Columbia.
